Located on 1/F of Jolly Place in Tseung Kwan O, Jolly Place Care Home is a non-profit self-financing residential care home operated by the Hong Kong Housing Society, offering a total of 38 beds.

Jolly Place Care Home boasts a prime location with comprehensive surrounding amenities. Residents can reach a large-scale shopping mall, restaurants, cultural and recreational facilities, fulfilling all daily living and shopping needs. Transportation is highly convenient. It takes only about a 5-minute walk from Hang Hau MTR station, and have multiple bus and minibus routes nearby, providing excellent connectivity in all directions.

Jolly Place Care Home provides nursing care and rehabilitation services (including occupational therapy and physiotherapy), with flexible long-stay and short- stay options. Fully renovated in 2024, Jolly Place Care Home has adopted various gerontechnology coupled with one-stop care services. Tailored regular to intensive care is provided to render comprehensive support and continuous care to residents, extending a home from home.

Design Features

Environment & Facilities

With a total area reaches11,859 square feet, the Jolly Place Care Home offers spacious accommodations with 38 beds including twin, 3-bed and converted single bedroom, as well as an independent Negative Pressure Isolation Room. Each bedroom is fitted with electric medical beds, private bathroom, privacy curtain and televisions etc. Each bed is equipped with an emergency call button and an individual LED light controls. A wardrobe, storage locker and desk are provided for each resident. Residents can also enjoy access to facilities within the Jolly Place complex, such as the canteen, the podium garden, and the Wellness Centre.

Care and Training Services

The Jolly Place Care Home provides a range of physical and cognitive training programmes. A multi-disciplinary team comprising hysiotherapists, occupational therapists and nurses conducts assessments for residents and formulates personalised training plans. Through structured training, it is aimed to delay degeneration and enhance self-care abilities of the residents. Services include:

Occupational Therapy Services

Physiotherapy Services

Physiotherapy applies the theory of physics such as light, heat, cold, water, force and sound to help individuals restore physical functions and delay the effects of ageing. Through stretching, weight training and functional training, physiotherapists correct posture, improve balance, and enhance mobility for individuals with restricted movement, such as those recovering from bone fractures and strokes. Combined with different treatment modalities like electrotherapy, manual therapy and acupuncture, etc. to relieve pain and reduce the limitations caused by various painful conditions.

Scope of Service:

Daily living skills assessment and training
Pain relief through ultrasound therapy, interferential electrotherapy, and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation
Post-stroke rehabilitation treatment to improve individuals' mobility
Chest Physiotherapy (including sputum suction and percussion)
Swallowing assessment and treatment, such as oral motor training and exercises, and neuromuscular electrical stimulation

Life at Jolly Place Care Home

Meal Arrangements

Monthly menus designed by chefs in consultation with dietitians.
4 meals per day, including nutritious soups, nourishing sweet soups, and a variety of Chinese and Western cuisines. Special meals are vailable to accommodate individual residents' health conditions and swallowing abilities, such as minced/moist-minced meals, pureed meals, diabetic meals, and low-salt meals (arranged according to doctor’s advice or prescription), to support frail residents or those with impaired swallowing ability to eat safely.

Social and Recreational Activities

A wide variety of activities is offered to residents to enjoy an active and socially engaged lifestyle in their golden years, promoting both physical and mental well-being. These include fitness exercises, art activities, cognitive and gardening activities, outdoor trips, festive celebrations, and volunteer visits.

Sweet Moment

Mrs. Chan (83 years old), a resident of Jolly Place Care Home, says that the nurses are very kind and often come to her room to chat with her. Mrs. Chan feels that Jolly Place Care Home is very comfortable, the rooms are large, the service is thoughtful, and the environment is comfortable and spacious, which makes her very happy to live at Jolly Place Care Home.

Mrs. Tam's husband is a resident of Jolly Place Care Home. As a family member and caregiver, Mrs. Tam feels that Jolly Place Care Home is as fashionable as a hotel, and the staff is very attentive. Mr. Tam suffers from dementia, which makes it difficult to communicate with others and requires repeated instructions, but the staff at Jolly Place Care Home are very patient. They feed him slowly and patiently, waiting for him to swallow each bite, taking very good care of him. The staff also pays attention to Mr. Tam's physical condition, when they find that Mr. Tam has symptoms of malnutrition, they will proactively discuss ways to improve with Mrs. Tam, which makes Mrs. Tam feel very relieved. Mrs. Tam appreciates the staff's understanding and meticulous care for people with dementia, as careful as caring for a baby, which makes Mrs. Tam feel very at ease.

Ms. So (aged 84) finds the environment at Jolly Place Care Home is very comfortable and says the staff are always attentive and ready to help whenever residents need assistance. She also appreciates that Jolly Place Care Home organises a wide variety of activities during different festivals, such as communal meals, which bring the elderly residents together and create joyful, happy moments. Ms. So remarks that living at Jolly Place Care Home gives her a great sense of freedom, and she is very satisfied with the caring and thoughtful service provided by the staff.

Termination of Residence

Provide written notice to the Residential Care Home not less than 30 calendar days in advance
The resident/guarantor must settle the final monthly statement on or before the date of discharge
