Eligibility

  1. Aged 60 or above on or before the date of submitting the application; and

  2. (i) who is a permanent resident of the HKSAR; or (ii) whose HKID card bears the symbol "***", "A" or "R"; or (iii) whose residency status in Hong Kong is equivalent to a person holding a HKID card bearing the symbol "***", "A" or "R" as evidenced by a written confirmation issued by the Immigration Department of HKSAR. 

 

Remarks: The Tanner Hill is a non-government subsidised housing project with no asset limits or assessment. 

Application  

The Tanner Hill is open for application to all interested individuals that are aged 60 or above and are (i) permanent resident of the HKSAR; or (ii) person whose HKID card bears the symbol "***", "A" or "R"; or (iii) person whose residency status in Hong Kong is equivalent to a person holding a HKID card bearing the symbol "***", "A" or "R" as evidenced by written confirmation issued by the HKSAR Immigration Department. Please note the following key information regarding the application: 
 

Application submission, flat selection and confirmation

  • In person#: The Tanner Hill Leasing Office, 3/F, The Tanner Hill, 8 Tanner Road, North Point, Hong Kong.

  • Leasing Office opening hours: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm (unit viewing is by appointment, the last appointment at 4:30 pm), Monday to Friday (except public holiday).

  • Administration Fee: A non-refundable administration fee is payable upon the successful selection of a flat. Payment can be made by cashier order (payable to "Hong Kong Housing Society"), Visa, Mastercard or UnionPay. 

 

Cooling-off period, signing of Lease Agreement and Service Agreement

  • A cooling-off period of 8 working days will be available to prospective tenants after flat selection and confirmation.

  • Prospective tenants are required to enter into a Lease Agreement and Service Agreement within 8 working days after flat selection and confirmation.

  • Prospective tenants are required to instruct a firm of solicitor to act for them in relation to such acts.

#If in case when the applicant(s) cannot undergo flat selection and submit flat application in person, he/she (in the case of a joint application, the principal applicant) may appoint an attorney in advance to undergo the flat selection and submit flat application on his/her behalf. The Hong Kong Housing Society will accept Letter of Attorney duly signed by the applicant(s) (in the case of a joint application, the principal applicant) and the attorney with their HKID card number or travel document number clearly stated.

Single / Joint Application 

  • Applicants may apply for a flat either individually or jointly, the latter of which has no restriction on the relationship of spouse, siblings, parents or even friends.

  • However, only spouse of an existing tenant can be added as joint tenant after taking occupancy, subject to the maximum occupancy limit of the respective residential unit.

 

Remarks: Applicants who intend to live together in one residential unit must submit joint application using a single application form.

 

Permitted Occupier 

  • Permitted Occupier is a person permitted by Hong Kong Housing Society (as landlord) to use and occupy an independent living residential unit at The Tanner Hill together with the tenant for such period of time approved by Hong Kong Housing Society, but who is not legal inheritor of any rights under the lease, such as monetary refund. Permitted Occupier is required to leave the residential unit when the tenant terminates the lease or passes away.

  • Applicant may apply to include the following eligible parties as Permitted Occupiers during the application period:

    • A spouse aged 50 or above

    • A live-in full-time domestic helper

Waiting List for Long Lease 

  • When desired units/ unit types are not available, prospective long lease customers can request to be placed on the waiting list for a long lease.

Remarks: 

  1. Short lease wait-listing application has been suspended since 26 October 2018;
  2. Long lease wait-listing applicants shall always have higher priority to select and confirm a unit.
