Residential Care Home - The Tanner Hill Joyous Home
Spread across three floors, The Tanner Hill Joyous Home offers spacious accommodation and care services for both long-stay and short-stay options. Each floor features 18 bedrooms, accommodating up to 117 residents. A multi-disciplinary team provides round-the-clock care, providing attentive care for residents’ physical and mental well-being.
Going beyond temporary care services, the Centre is dedicated to providing professional day care, nutritious meals, and a wide range of training programmes for older adults. It offers comprehensive support for carers, including counselling and service referrals enabling older adults to continue enjoying a fulfilling life within the community.
Led by experienced physiotherapists and occupational therapists, and equipped with state-of-the-art gerontechnology, the Centre designs tailored recovery programmes for the wider community, with a special focus on the older adults.
Services provided by The Tanner Hill Joyous Circle are available to the general public. Tenants of the Tanner Hill, however, enjoy priority access and exclusive discounts on certain services.
The facility primarily offers 2-bed and 5-bed rooms. Should you require a single room, you can opt for a private room service for an additional occupancy fee.
The Tanner Hill Joyous Home operates on a self-financing basis to maintain a high-quality environment and professional care services, hence it is not enrolled in any subsidy schemes.
The Tanner Hill Joyous Home is dedicated to delivering high-quality and holistic care services, including regular doctor visits, 24-hour nursing support, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, emotional support and counselling services, with the integration of gerontechnology. These services support the older adults in maintaining an independent, dignified, and fulfilling life.
Daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., including public holidays.
Menus are designed by a dietitian and an experienced chef, providing five meals a day, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, two sessions of light refreshments, a variety of Chinese and Western dishes, and festive treats. Special diets such as soft meals, diabetic-friendly meals, and low-purine options can be tailored to meet individual dietary requirements, ensuring balanced nutrition for older adults.
The Tanner Hill Joyous Home highly prioritises on the wellbeing of older adults and is committed to maintaining a superior living environment. It has consistently been awarded the Indoor Air Quality Certificate (Good Class) by the Environmental Protection Department for consecutive years. In addition to a disinfection robot with an auto-navigation system patrols and sanitises every corner regularly every day, it also collaborates with the Nano and Advanced Materials Institute (NAMI), applying their Super HEPA-grade Air Purification Media to effectively remove bacteria and airborne particulates. Moreover, a Negative Pressure Isolation Room and buffer zone are in place to safeguard infection control.
The Centre’s services are delivered by a multi-disciplinary team, including social workers, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and healthcare officers. Alongside delivering professional care and training, the team possesses a good understanding of the needs of older adults, offering patience and thoughtful communication to compassionately support each individual.
The team also places strong emphasis on communicating with carers, helping family members to understand the physical and emotional well-being of their loved ones, and when needed, providing emotional support to carers in order to alleviate their burden of care, foster better family interactions, and ensure that care and compassion for the older adult are sustained.
Going beyond temporary care services, the Centre integrates cognitive and physical training with entertainment. In addition to special events, themed activities are scheduled from Monday to Friday. These activities are designed based on the “5 Sense and 2 Motions” concept, and supported by gerontechnology, enabling older adults to train and learn through games, discover new interests, and gain a sense of accomplishment, all contributing to a healthy, confident and joyful life.
The fee is fully inclusive, covering all meals, daily training and activities with no hidden charges. Menus are designed by a dietitian and an experienced chef, the full-day service includes breakfast, lunch and light refreshments, while the half-day service includes lunch and light refreshments. The Centre can also accommodate specific dietary requirements with tailored options, such as soft meals, diabetic-friendly meals and low-purine meals, to ensure balanced nutrition for older adults.
New service users will receive a free health and well-being assessment. Based on the results, a personalised care and training plan will be developed.
Individuals aged 60 or above are eligible to apply. Our multi-disciplinary team has particular expertise in caring for frail individuals and those with cognitive impairment. Currently, the average age of service users is around 85, with the oldest being 105 years old. Around 80% of service users have cognitive impairment.
A doctor’s referral letter is required for physiotherapy services, but not for other rehabilitation services.
The referral letter must be signed and stamped by a registered medical practitioner (general or specialist) in Hong Kong and submitted within 6 months of the date of issue to be valid.
